Rina Kedem

Rina is The founder of Desert Matters. As an Environmental-peace entrepreneur, She works and teaches in the fields of international development, conflict and environment. She has co-developed and directed organizations and projects with Palestinians, Jordanians and Israelis for the past 18 years.
Rina co-manages the Jordan-Israel Center for Community, Environment and Research at the Arava Institute, in collaboration with the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center. She also directs regional cooperation with Jordan on behalf of the Eilot Regional Council. She teaches various courses and lectures on her areas of research and fieldwork including a master’s course about development in conflict zones at the Hebrew University.
She is currently working on her PhD in community development and transboundary environmental cooperation in the Department of Geography and Environment at the Hebrew University.
