In the west south of Jordan, in Wadi Araba, only 50 k”m north of Aqaba, located a hidden wonder, a jewel of colorful sands, canyons, and incredibly nature-designed rocks.
Al Nakhaila reserve is one of the less known desert beauties of Jordan. It is easily accessed from Aqaba and can make a 1-day adventure Jeep tour, guided by local people from Rahmeh, the nearby Bedouin village, that will arrange for you a pick up from the hotel in Aqaba, as well as Jeep transportation for the tour. They are all experienced Jeep drivers, that know all the hidden corners in this desert.
Hungry? The people of Rahme’h will open a table for you in the midst of the desert with local Bedouin food for a picnic outdoor meal, cooked by the women in their family. they can also take care of your further arrangements to Petra & Wadi Rum.
We named this trip after Mohamed Alhywat, Who passed away on March 2021.
Born and raised in Rahme’h, Muhamad was familiar with all the hidden corners in this desert around his homeland.
Muhamad spoke fluid English and understood the needs of a western tourist. In his charming openness, he was a bridge for us towards a better understanding of Bedouin life and culture.
