ABOUT THE TOUR
A close intimate view into Jericho, the oldest city in the world, a tropic oasis in the desert, the holiday resort of the west bank: Along with beauty and tranquility we’ll experience the footsteps of history, remarkable religious events and archeological sites. We’ll enjoy home hospitality and meet the local people for whom hospitality is a first rule of survival.
3 DAYS
- Day 1: a hike in Wadi Kelt, including a visit to St. George monastery and traditional Bedouin meal in Abu Akram’s famous tent at the end of the hike.
- Day 2: Heysham palace, ancient Muslim architecture. Visit local initiatives: fish & dairy farm, Mosaic workshop.
- Day 3: visiting the Karantal monastery, hanging on the cliffs, overlooking Jericho from high above. Walking to the spring of Auja. Visit the city center, downtown Jericho with the fruit market and local sweets bakery. We’ll spend the evenings in the local cafes and famous restaurants in Jericho.
